It costs each high school student more than $300 to be in our high school WMEA All-State bands, orchestras, choirs and jazz groups. Our All-State Youth Honor Chorus carries a $95 price tag, and the Junior All-State (eighth grade) bands, orchestras and choir cost about $100. These activities are break-even for WMEA; we do not profit from the students.
Money from the YME fund will help defray costs so that all students will feel comfortable applying to take part. We are using donated funds to provide help for students at all levels who truly need financial assistance, with a special focus for those on free or reduced lunches.
