CONFERENCE OPPORTUNITIES

CONFERENCE PRE-REGISTRATION AND HOUSING RESERVATIONS NOW OPEN

Registration is now open for the 2009 MENC Northwest Division Conference in Spokane this February. The Northwest Board has designed an exciting event, with more than 170 sessions, concerts and other events that are designed with music education at the fore.

Presenters and guest conductors from 29 states, the District of Columbia and Canada will share their expertise with our attendees starting with reading sessions on Thursday evening, February 12 and concluding with the MENC All-Northwest student honor group concerts on Sunday, February 15 and the WMEA (Washington) All-State concert on Monday, February 16.  Visit the more-than-100 vendor booths in the Exhibit Hall.

EVELYN GLENNIE TO PERFORM WITH THE SPOKANE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Our Friday night special event is a concert by the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, featuring guest soloist Evelyn Glennie.  Conference pre-registrants can purchase discounted tickets to this concert featuring the internationally renowned profoundly deaf percussionist.

The general public can purchase tickets directly from the Spokane Symphony Orchestra.

CALL FOR PAPERS: RESEARCH POSTER SESSION

Qualitative, quantitative, historical, or philosophical research that is either completed or in-progress on any topic related to music teaching/learning will be considered. Graduate research posters of in-progress or completed work are also welcomed.  Follow the link for details.
