WMEA History

The Washington Music Educators Association provides and
promotes educational resources for music educators and students in our
public and private schools and colleges. Opportunities for teachers to
improve their skills exist through the biennial conferences, periodic
in-service sessions and publications. Students are showcased at 22
regional solo and ensemble contests and at our State Solo and Ensemble
Contest, by participation in our All-State performing groups, in clinics
and workshops at our conferences and at a variety of statewide
in-service sessions.
WMEA believes a good music education is a critical component of a
basic education for all students
