Job Description
Position closes July 16, 2010

Assistant Director of Bands at AC Davis High School in Yakima, WA
Days/Hours: Variable, to be determined by the director
Salary: $3,034 - $4,852 DOE (Activities Salary Schedule)


Directly Responsible To: Building Principal and Band Director


Minimum Qualifications:

• Washington State Teaching Certificate is preferred.
• Woodwind, brass or percussionist background, with marching/pep band background preferred.
• Familiarity with scoring, drill instruction and other marching band techniques preferred.

Primary Function:

• Tuesday and Thursday evening rehearsals.
• Home football games, Marching Band Competitions, and basketball games during the winter.
• Assist with preparation and performance at spring parades.
• Pay is based on 25+ performances.

Expectations for Continued Employment:

• Employment is contingent upon passing the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation
Criminal Background Check and Drug/Alcohol screen.
• Must maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Attend Yakima School District’s Harassment/Discrimination/Intimidation/Bullying Training
and Bloodborne Pathogens Training review offered by the district.
• Obtain a CPR and First Aid Card if needed.
• Attend job specific trainings as required.

Application Procedures

1) Employment Application Form. Click on Online Application and choose your correct login user choice to log into the application. Complete each of the tabs beginning with Preferences. Fill out the remaining tabs on the Application Menu. When completing the Experience section, please include your recent work history. Under the Skills tab, the drop-down box of Type, choose Training to submit such skills as keyboarding, word processing, Excel, etc. from the drop-down box.

2) Inserts. There are two inserts in the Inserts tab section. Click on ‘Print’ to the right of the form name to open the document so that you can print and complete it.

3) Copy of High School Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or college transcript. Copies sent in for application will be scanned and then shredded. (Official documents will be required upon employment.)

4) Current Resume. A resume of your work experience, education and special skills should be included. This will help to “fill in the gaps” left by the District application. This can be inputted or copied to the Upload tab in the online application or you may submit a hard copy.
